    The Inaugural James Blyth Lecture
This lecture will be the first in an annual lecture series aimed at celebrating the life and work of James Blyth and the legacy he has left. James Blyth, a Professor of Natural Philosophy at Anderson’s College which has since grown and developed into the now University of Strathclyde, was a pioneer in the field of electricity generation through wind power. The wind turbine at his home in Maryhill was the world’s first-known structure by which electricity was generated by wind power, a design he patented.
The lecture will contain details on Renewables and Wind Energy, looking at where we are and where we are going in the future and the role we can all play. The event is targeted at anyone with an interest in Renewables, particularly Wind Energy.
